Yaquina Head, or Cape Foulweather, Lighthouse, Oregon. One of many on the rocky headlands, it attests to the nautical history, and the dangers of shipping along this wild and rugged coast. Made in Paris in 1868 and shipped to Oregon, it was first lit in 1873. The original first order fixed Fresnel lens is still used, and is visible for 17 nautical miles (31 km, 19 mi). Horror movie fans may recognize it from the 2002 film The Ring.
