Tri-Coastal Ride 2014

We finish up the day with a ride to the top of Red Mountain, with views of Birmingham. Red Mountain is part of the Appalachian Valley and Ridge province, and is composed of tilted Silurian strata. The name comes from the prominent seams of hematite-rich sedimentary ironstone, the ore used in the Sloss Furnaces.
