Tri-Coastal Ride 2014

Hearst Castle, built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, was the inspiration for Xanadu in the 1941 Orson Welles film, Citizen Kane. Hearst hosted countless movie stars and politicians here in the 1920s and 1930s. Now part of the California State Park System, it had 59 bedrooms, a movie theater, a private power plant, an airfield, and a private zoo. I end the day in Morro Bay, where I have perfectly prepared fresh California salmon at the Galley Seafood Grill and Bar.
